Thursday March 22nd was the day me and Thomas were returning back to our internships but we didn’t have a shoot that day so I was a little disappointed. So the assignment was to create captions for this Port of Oakland video called “Growth with Care”. The assignment was interesting because I also learned differences between Subtitles and Captions. Subtitles are used for people that with a foreign language like in movies and used for translation but for Captions they’re supposed to serve as visual wording for deaf or hard of hearing people. While I was doing this project I was thinking if subtitles are used for foreign languages how come captions aren’t used in movies for deaf and hard of hearing people when they watch them? I  feel that captions should be added in movies so that deaf and hard of hearing people can understand what characters are saying when they speak. That’s my opinion.
